He enjoyed taking his wife to the casino, his morning chat sessions with Scott and Bobby Low, looking up genealogy and family history, and tinkering in the garage. Jerry gave lots of kids rides on the fire truck. He loved going to the schools and teaching the students about Fire Safety and “Stop”, “Drop”, and “Roll". Jerry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events. Jerry referred to himself as the “builder of eternal homes”, while working for the Onawa Cemetery. He worked for Thelander Plumbing and then the City of Onawa for many years until his retirement. Jerry and Patsy Ann Bean were united into marriage Jat the First Christian Church in Onawa. During his military service he was stationed in Germany during Vietnam. Jerry served in the United States Army from Septemuntil his honorable discharge, August 18, 1966. He grew up in Onawa and graduated from Onawa High School. Jerry Wilmer was born Februin Onawa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Etheleen (Meadows) Bellis. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa. prayer service at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with the Fireman Honor Guard and Military Honors provided by the United States Army and the David McNeill American Legion Post #129, Onawa, Iowa. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Jerry’s obituary. Thursday, Jat the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa with Hospice Chaplain Dale Wolf, officiating. Bellis, 79, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Thursday, at his home, surrounded by his family.Ī funeral service will be 10:00 A.M.
